General Biodiesel Inc.'s (GBI) is a Seattle-based alternative, renewable energy biofuel startup company.  GBI is a clean technology company committed to promoting  sustainability in our environment especially in the Northwest and Puget Sound region.  We are committed to producing the highest quality of biodiesel fuel that will exceed the ASTM D-6751 fuel standards with our proprietary process technology.  During these violatile energy and economic times, GBI is committed to being a profitable and fiscally responsible company.  We estimate to be online, permitted and operational as a producer of biodiesel fuel by Spring 2009.

GBI's motto is "Generating Positive Energy" which means we pursue to maximize a positive energy balance.  Unlike the traditional biodiesel producer model of using new or "virgin" raw material (a.k.a. feedstock) such as soy or canola oil, which can be used in the food supply, GBI seeks to truly be a 'waste to energy' company by using waste cooking oil and animal fat (e.g. tallow) as our primary feedstock.  Our integrated model of using waste cooking oil will protect and enhance a more sustainable environment, help with our country's energy crisis, promote our regional business development by creating green jobs, and make the U.S. less dependent on foreign oil.

By being a leader in the clean air revolution for a more sustainable environment, GBI is committed to promoting biodiesel fuel vs diesel fuel because biodiesel fuel emits 48% less carbon monoxide emissions than diesel fuel.  In addition, using 100% biodiesel fuel vs diesel fuel decreases significantly carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC), contributing factors in the localized formation of smog and ozone, amongst other health benefits.^*
